Terms of Use & Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 2026

DESIGNLEDGE is a sole-operated professional practice. James Lacey provides the services described on this site. In these terms, “DESIGNLEDGE,” “the site,” and “services” refer to this marketing website, inquiry and lead flows, and any professional engagements agreed in writing (for example statements of work or contracts) separate from browsing the site.

Terms of Use

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the DESIGNLEDGE website, visitors accept these Terms of Use. If these terms are not acceptable, please do not use the site or submit information through it.

2. Nature of Services

DESIGNLEDGE offers principal-led consulting and implementation work focused on agentic systems, digital infrastructure, LLM-backed workflows, integrations, product UX, and related measurement (including SEO, GEO, and AEO). This site is informational and a channel for inquiries. Specific deliverables, fees, timelines, and intellectual property terms for paid work are defined only in a separate written agreement between the client and DESIGNLEDGE.

3. No Guarantee From the Site Alone

Nothing on this site constitutes a promise of availability, engagement, outcome, or performance. Responses to inquiries are at DESIGNLEDGE’s discretion. Past or example work does not guarantee future results for any client or project.

4. Visitor Responsibilities

Visitors agree to provide accurate information when using contact or lead forms and to use the site in compliance with applicable law. Visitors are responsible for safeguarding any credentials issued for future client systems or portals, if applicable.

5. Intellectual Property (Site Content)

Text, graphics, logos, images, code, and other materials on this marketing site are owned by DESIGNLEDGE or used under license and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. Reproduction, distribution, or creation of derivative works from site content requires prior written permission except for limited personal, non-commercial viewing or sharing of public URLs.

6. Client Deliverables and Ownership

For paid engagements, ownership and license terms for deliverables (including code, designs, and configurations) are set in the governing contract. Generally, client-provided materials remain with the client; custom work product is assigned or licensed as expressly stated in that agreement. Absent a signed agreement, no client work relationship is formed through the site alone.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, DESIGNLEDGE and James Lacey shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of this site or reliance on its content. For claims relating to the site itself, total liability shall not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars (USD $100) or the amount paid to DESIGNLEDGE for the specific paid engagement giving rise to the claim in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, whichever is greater. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those jurisdictions, liability is limited to the maximum permitted by law.

8. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by law, visitors agree to indemnify and hold harmless DESIGNLEDGE and James Lacey from claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from misuse of the site, violation of these terms, or violation of third-party rights, except to the extent caused by DESIGNLEDGE’s willful misconduct.

9. Changes to the Site and Terms

The site and these Terms of Use may be updated or discontinued at any time without prior notice. Continued use after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

Privacy Policy

1. Who Is Responsible

DESIGNLEDGE, operated by James Lacey, is responsible for processing personal information described in this policy for this website. Contact: james@designledge.com.

2. Information Collected

Information provided directly through the site includes, when submitted:

  • Name and email address
  • Website URL and business context fields from the lead form
  • Goals, friction points, and optional notes
  • Any other fields or messages sent voluntarily

Technical and usage data are collected automatically by hosting, analytics, and measurement tools, including:

  • IP address, approximate location derived by vendors, device and browser type, operating system
  • Pages viewed, time on page, scroll depth, referral source, and similar usage signals
  • Cookies, pixels, and similar technologies as described below

3. Google Analytics (GA4)

The site uses Google Analytics 4, provided by Google LLC, to measure traffic and engagement. Google may process data including:

  • Pages visited, session duration, and navigation paths
  • Device, browser, and screen characteristics
  • Geographic region at coarse granularity
  • Traffic source and campaign parameters where present

DESIGNLEDGE also sends custom, event-based measurements to GA4 to understand how the site is used—for example CTA clicks, lead-form step progression, scroll milestones, and conversion-related events tied to form completion. These events support product and marketing decisions; they do not include secrets or payment card data.

For more on how Google uses data, see Google’s policy . Browser add-ons and device settings can limit certain collection; see Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on .

4. Other Analytics and Automation-Assisted Tools

Additional third-party analytics, tag management, or measurement tools may be added from time to time to understand site performance, attribution, and funnel behavior. Those vendors process data under their own policies. If materially new categories of tools are introduced, this page will be updated and the “Last updated” date revised.

5. How Information Is Used

Personal and usage information is used to:

  • Respond to inquiries and operate the lead workflow
  • Send transactional messages related to form submissions (for example confirmations) via email provider
  • Improve the site, content, and measurement of marketing effectiveness
  • Detect abuse, spam, or technical issues
  • Comply with legal obligations

6. Service Providers

Data is shared with subprocessors that host or operate parts of the stack, including for example:

  • Vercel (hosting and edge delivery; may process request metadata and logs)
  • Neon (database storage for lead records submitted through the site)
  • Resend (transactional email delivery for notifications related to inquiries)
  • Google (Analytics as described above)

Each provider applies its own terms and privacy notices. Lead data stored in the database is limited to what is submitted on the form plus standard timestamps and identifiers needed to operate the system.

7. Data Security and Retention

Reasonable technical and organizational measures protect personal information. No online transmission or storage is completely secure.

Lead and inquiry information is retained long enough to follow up, deliver agreed services, and meet legal or accounting needs, typically on the order of two years after the last meaningful contact unless a longer period is required by law or an active engagement. Analytics data is retained according to each vendor’s settings and policies.

8. Rights and Choices

Depending on location, visitors may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of personal information, or to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights for information held by DESIGNLEDGE in connection with this site, contact james@designledge.com. Analytics and advertising vendors provide their own opt-out and preference mechanisms.

9. Cookies and Similar Technologies

The site uses cookies and similar technologies for analytics and measurement. Browser settings can block or delete cookies; blocking some cookies may affect site functionality or measurement accuracy.

10. Children

The site and services are not directed to individuals under 18. Personal information is not knowingly collected from children.

11. International Visitors

DESIGNLEDGE is based in the United States. Information may be processed in the U.S. and in locations where subprocessors operate. By using the site, visitors in other regions acknowledge that data may be transferred to the U.S. or other jurisdictions with different data protection rules.

12. Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated periodically. Changes are posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. Material changes will be reflected here; continued use of the site after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised policy where permitted by law.
